Fire Drill Procedure
The pictures below came from my classroom at Middleton Middle School, while I was student teaching there in 2014. The pictures and checklist identify the exit route I would take my students on in case of an emergency evacuation. The route was one we practiced during winter and spring fire drills.
During my time at Middleton Middle School we conducted multiple fire drills and one lock-down drill. For each occasion I was responsible for my students, conducting them to safety, or in the case of the lock-down drill, securing my classroom against intruders and directing my students quietly to a safe spot in the room.
These artifacts represent my knowledge of the school's emergency-response procedures and my ability to properly enact them with a class full of students. This testifies to my expertise in Safety and Accessibility (2e), one facet of Danielson's Domain #2: Classroom Environment.
