Modern Art Exam
The attached document below was created as a final assignment for the College of Idaho course Modern Art After 1940 (ART 342). For the final, students were challenged to design their own term paper "containing questions you believe would fairly address the material we have studied during the term, and to offer outline answers or rubrics for each question." I had to address five sections in my "build your own" exam: slide identification, short answers, thoughtful questions to prompt discussion, image comparison essay, and thematic essay.
The college-level exam I created challenged me to sort through the content of the modern art course and translate my knowledge into a cumulative test. The resulting exam and lengthy rationale demonstrates a wide reference to and deep understanding of modern art after 1940. I feel it is an exemplary artifact of Domain 1: Planning and Preparation because it demonstrates my deep level of art history content knowledge (1a) and my ability to design an assessment (1f) around a course curriculum.
